There are indications that the former national president of the Federal University of Technology Alumni Association, Engr. Augustine Elochukwu Okeke, an indigene of Ebenese, Ihioma ancient kingdom, in Orlu LGA of Imo State is set to declare his ambition to contest for the Orlu state constituency seat on the platform of the People Democratic Party (PDP).

The seasoned administrator and executive Director of Leadership Engagement and Research Network, based in Lagos who has a Bachelors degree in engineering, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration, is also a member of the Council  of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN), the Nigeria Society of Engineers(NSE) member, Institute of Electrical/Electronics Engineers, among other professional bodies.

A source close to the renowned engineer disclosed that, he used the last Christmas period to consult extensively, seeking advice on the steps to take, as regards the enormous pressure on him to contest for the Orlu house of assembly seat. “He seems to have finished consulting and is now ready to publicly declare his interest to contest, as demanded by the people “Engr. Elochukwu Okeke has been under serious pressure by his people for some time now to contest for the house of assembly seat”. He seems to have accepted their request and will publicly declare his intention any moment from now. We are optimistic he will not only make a difference, but also offer quality representation”.
