The shortlived erstwhile Governor of Imo state, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha yesterday arrived the shores of Imo State through the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Umuohiagu Ngor Okpala LGA, to a warm embrace of supporters, in what could be described as Civic reception with most of the PDP supporters and fans storming the airport to welcome him.

Accompanied by some top PDP officials and members of the National and State Assemblies, Ihedioha after exchanging pleasantries with cheering supporters most of whom used the opportunity to make case for Comrade Emeka Nwokeke who is contesting for the now contentious Imo PDP Chairman, before they proceeded to Mbaise for the burial of the pioneer Chairman of PDP, Chief I.D Nwoga.

It would be recalled that since after the Supreme Court verdict that sacked Ihedioha as governor of Imo State and ordered that Senator Hope Uzodinma be sworn-in his place as Governor, Ihedioha had hardly been home.

It is therefore the great expectation of all that Ihedioha will participate in the State congress of the party, slated to hold tomorrow, Saturday August 1, 2020.

It would be recalled that the present administration of Senator Hope Uzodinma was said to have inherited some of the committees and panels set up by Ihedioha but he appears to have abandoned their recommendations or worst still, Hope Uzodinma even as Governor is intimidated by the looming and overbearing influence of Owelle Rochas Okorocha, so much that he is afraid of releasing white paper on the atrocities and recklessness perpetrated and instituted by Okorocha while in office for eight (8) years.

An instant and obviously agitating case in point is the Eastern Palm University, Ideato South which Ihedioha upon his emergence as governor in 2019 constituted a Technical Committee, headed by the former Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO Prof Jude Njoku, to unravel the mystery behind its appropriation by Okorocha after state land and funds were committed to its establishment and registration as second Imo State University with NUC.

The development has however triggered some speculations, whether the governor is sincere in recovering the alleged loots under Governor Rochas Okorocha or just paying lips service to the issues.
