– Cart away valuables worth over N5 million

Some people suspected to be hoodlums on Tuesday 9th January 2018, invaded the Community Watchdog newly commissioned Orlu area office/press centre, along Bank Road Orlu and carted away all the computers in the cyber café, the public address system, plasma television set, GOTV decoder, electricity generating set and other electronic gadgets and office equipment worth over N1.5 million.

 

According to the Publisher, Comrade Precious Nwadike, the workers in the office called and informed him on phone, when they reported for duty last Wednesday and noticed that the burglary proofs of one of the windows and that on the main entrance were vandalized.

When asked if he suspects, they could be hirelings of agent of government which have severally attacked the newspapers’ head office, he said he can’t say anything until police is done with their investigation. He however, commended the new Divisional Police Officer, DPO his prompt response.

It will be recalled that since the newspaper published the story of the missing bailout fund, allegedly stolen by a Togolese cook attached to the Chief of Staff and son-inlaw to the governor, Chief Uche Nwosu, and the attendant litigations and court cases, it has been tough and hazardous for the fast rising newspaper outfit. There have been several overt and covert schemes designed to ground the company and put the publication out of circulation.

The recent incident has however been reported to the Orlu Divisional Police Headquarters for through investigation.
