The Imo State Council of Youths (ISCOY), have warned detractors and to desist forthwith from insulting, maligning and throwing tantrums on the governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha “or face a vote of personae non grata by Imo youths”.
The group, in a communiqué signed by leaders of the various youth groups from the 27 local government areas of the state, after a state executive council meeting held at Imo Youth centre, near Concorde Hotel, Owerri on Wednesday 2nd May 2018, said it will no longer tolerate a situation where some ungrateful elements who benefitted immensely from, were nurtured and brought to political limelight by governor Rochas Okorocha would turn around to bite the finger that fed them by rubbishing his image and reputation.
They averred that the Rescue Mission government, led by Governor Okorocha has performed excellently and offered Imolites the desired dividends of democracy in all ramifications, “including youth and women empowerment. It will therefore be against God and humanity to disparage him, instead of appreciating his enormous efforts and sacrifice “to give Imo a new life”.
They challenged other aspirants to showcase their achievements, for Imolites to see instead of resorting to cheap and ineffective blackmail, stressing that “such unguarded utterances and statements against His Excellency, the performing governor of Imo State by anybody, no matter how highly placed will not be tolerated, as nobody’s interest is above the related peace being enjoyed in the state”.
We therefore issue a 21 day ultimatum to the so called APC restoration group comprising the Deputy Governor Eze Madumere, Senator Ben Uwajumaogu, Senator Osita Izunaso, Sir Jude Ejiogu, Dr. T.O.E Ekechi and other, to apologize to the governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha or face the rot of Imo youth”.
Some of those present at the meeting include, the convener and General Manager of ENTRACO, Comrade Jeff Nwoha, who is also chairman, Board of Trustees, Imo State Council of Youths, Prince Kelechi Iwueze of Imo Youth Alliance, Hon. Frank Onwumere, Commandant, Imo Community Watch, Hon.
