The crack within the rank and file of the Imo State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) is getting wider by day and the gulf becoming deeper as the party leaders and stakeholders are now in various opposition camps in the hard struggle for the position of a Minister of the Federal Government.

The Imo APC that had lost woefully in the last Presidential and National Assembly elections, hence it’s inability to secure the juicy position of a leadership in the National Assembly is now known to be in disarray over Ministerial appointment, a situation that has further polarized the fragmented leadership of the party in the state.

While the embattled former Governor of Imo State now a senator for Orlu zone, Chief Rochas Anayo Okorocha, wishes he would be given an automatic opportunity to nominate a candidate for the appointment, a faction of the party has been canvassing that the former Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, who had remained steadfast and held onto the party platform should be compensated with a position while a third group are seriously positioning the APC guber candidate in the last general elections, Senator Hope Uzodinma and Senator Osita Izunaso, for the position.

The fresh Ministerial ambition has further fragmented the opposition APC in Imo State as they have started washing their dirty linings in the public domain while casting aspersions on and disparaging each other.

The party interim Chairman, Chief Marcelinus Nlemigbo, led faction was alleged to be making franitic effort to defend Senator Hope Uzodinma as the most fit and proper for the nomination for the post of a Minister, an organization that goes by the name of “Concerned Imo Professionals and Stakeholders (CI-APC-PS) has sent a strong worded petition to the President in which they described the former Orlu Senator as incompetent, unfit, inept and bungling, to ever represent Imo in any political arena let alone being made a ministerial nominee for Imo State”.

The group which has denied being a faceless organization in a public statement online stated as follows;

For the purposes of clarification, the Concerned Imo APC Professionals and Stakeholders (CI-APC-PS) is not a faceless organization and does not intend to be so, but for the characters like Sen. Uzodinma and Chief Nlemigbo who have shown dangerous desperation in clinching to power.

The group had earlier on June 7, 2019, petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari, discrediting the former Orlu Senator and part of the letter which has gone viral on social media reads advised the president to avoid the former senator.
