The Chairman of Ikeduru interim management committee, Dr. Anselem Opara, held his second stakeholders meeting at the Ikeduru LGA headquarters recently. Speaking to newsmen after the stakeholders meeting, Dr. Opara informed that the second stakeholders meeting was put in place to drum home on programmes which the interim management committee wants to address that will benefit Ikeduru people. He said that Roads Rehabilitation, Agriculture, Sports, Security, Youths and Women Empowerment will remain his cardinal point. Moreso, the completion of the secretariat complex which was 50% worked upon by the previous administration will attract his attention because he is going to install Water Bore Hole, Electricity, Toilets etc to make the secretariat habitable.

Dr. Opara further informed that Ikeduru sports stadium will be rehabilitated to enable youths advance in their sporting activities. He explained that, the Governor is keen in sports development and interested in the project. He equally said that the interim management committee which he is Chairman, will rehabilitate four health centres that were moribund and four dilapidated primary schools. He opined that with the collaboration of IMSUBEB, the primary school in each of the twelve wards will have a bore hole and toilet facilities.

Dr. Opara assured that one or two roads will benefit from the state government rural road intervention. I he roads according to him are Amala-Avuvu through the Agro service centre that will cater for all Agricultural needs of Ikeduru to Owalla-Avuvu to Aboh in Uzoagba to Owerri North. Another road is Owu-Amakohia to Eke Onumiri to Okpalla Amakohia to Inyshi to other parts of Ikeduru.

Dr. Opara further stated that in the third month, Ikeduru LGA will acquire bulldozers; grading machines and caterpillars on agreed easy payment terms and these earth moving equipments will go a long way to addressing road problems in Ikeduru. He said that the Ekemele bad spot is caused by lack of drainage and that the communities along that area are not cooperating. The Chairman promised that the Imo State government will soon bring a lasting remedy on the Ekemele bad spot.

Emma Kema, Chief Ogueri, amongst other dignitaries.
