The Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area,Hon. Chief Jonathan Onyeneke, has assured the people of Aboh Mbaise of his determination to reduce crime and insecurity to the barest minimum in the area.

Speaking during an expanded strategic security meeting held at the Council headquarters recently which had in attendance all the heads of security agencies in the area, traditional rulers, Presidents General of all the autonomous communities in Aboh Mbaise and other critical stakeholders, Hon Onyeneke stated that the security meeting was convened, following the directive of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Governor of Imo State to all local governments in the state to organize its own security meeting after State’s security council meeting.

In attendance to the expanded security meeting were Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP Lawal Shinkafi Area Commander Mbaise/Ngor Opalla, ASP Onyeuche Justin, DCO Aboh Mbaise, Mr Uka Henry, Department of State Security Service Aboh Mbaise , SP Vincent Nwokwo, DPO Oke Ovoro and a host of other Security services operating in the area.

Following the security meeting a communiqué was issued which includes the revival of vigilante groups, sensitization and enlightenment against hard drugs and cultism in schools in the area.

The release called for enhanced synergy among the security agencies and the traditional rulers in Aboh Mbaise. The communiqué also adopted the position of the state government expanded security meeting of 1st October in regards to security of lives and properties in Aboh Mbaise.

Concluding, the Aboh Mbaise Council boss Hon. Onyeneke, enjoined stakeholders in Aboh Mbaise to join hands with him to ensure that lives and property of the good people of Aboh Mbaise are protected.
