–      Decry S/E Governors silence

Town Unions in Igboland or South East states under the aegis of Association of South East Town Unions (ASETU) under the leadership of Chief Emeka Diwe, are presently strategizing and poised to stage an all out serious fight against any arm of terrorism militating or launched against any part of Igboland as the unions expressed concern over the continued silence of governors in the region over the recent cgloomy security challenges in the area.

The Association observed with grave concern the obduracy and non-challant attitude with which most of the governors have demonstrated over the establishment of local vigilante groups to provide adequate security in the zone in the suspicion or expectation of any undue terrorist attack or mayhem.

Currently, the leaders of the Association embarked on a sensitization tour of various towns and communities to alert town union leaders on the importance of waging a fight against terrorism in all the Igboland territories.

In a letter dated May 27, 2020, signed by the National President of ASETU, Chief Emeka Diwe and his Secretary, Hon Gideon Adikwuru and despatched to all affiliated Town Union Executives and other stakeholders of the zone, the Association observed that this period calls for extra vigilance, as a result of strange events or occurrences which are difficult to explain.
