The Izunobi dynasty of Umuomunwa, Umuomere, Amaebu-Ebenator Orsu LGA in Imo State, has announced with deep sense of sorrow but total submission and gratitude to God Almighty the passing onto eternal glory of one of her own, High Chief Bolingo Josaphat Chibueze Izunobi, Eze Obaku Chinenye-Eze Nke Izizi na Ebenator, at the age of 78.

He was the elder brother to Hon (Dr) Celestine Izunobi, former SA to the Governor on Pension Reforms and former APGA House of Representatives Candidate for Orlu/Orsu federal Constituency.

According to the funeral arrangements announced by the family, the remains of the deceased will be committed to mother earth at Eze Obaku at Eke-Amaebu market road,off Ihiala-Orlu road, Amaebu Ebenator, Orsu LGA, on Thursday September 3, 2020. This will take place after a funeral service in his honour and preceded by the lying in state at his village for final respect and farewell by family members, friends, well wishers and sympathizers.

A Christian Wake and Service of Songs in respect of the fallen hero will take place at his villa on Wednesday September 2, by 1pm.

Commenting on the life times and qualities of this legendary figure, Dr Celestine Izunobi said the demise of his brother, Eze Obaku is a big loss to the Izunobi family at large and to him as a person. He described late Josaphat Chibueze Izunobi as his mentor, who taught him a lot as his younger brother, adding that he was a great man that lived a great life.

He further said, the late fallen Iroko was an amiable, benevolent, charming, jovial, gregarious species and his champion from childhood.

“Bolingo left us with an incredible model of how to live our lives, the Obaku value system”, he cried.

Among the numerous persons mourning his departure are Nze Gilbert Izunobi and Dr Josaphat Izunobi.
