As the various participating political parties conclude their primaries to elect their flag bearers for the Okigwe senate election which is slated for October,  31, 2020 the former Special Adviser to the former governor of Imo State, AIC Akwarandu, has commended Engr. Charles Ugwu for starting  on a good note.According to Akwarandu, the transparency and due process that heralded the just concluded party primaries for Okigwe Senate show that Ugwu understands the need for internal democracy as evidenced during the last exercise.

Akwarndu therefore encouraged the chairman Ugwu to sustain the tempo, adding that his emergence has made the party become, a beehive of activities. “Every party woman and man now sees the party as all embracing”, he said.

Speaking on the renovation work going on at the party secretariat, along Okigwe Road Owerri, he said that he never expected anything less considering the quality of the man at the helm of affairs and what PDP represents as a party.”As you can see, 7 days of Rt.Hon Emeka Ihedioha brought about massive transformation in Imo which can hardly be forgotten by every Imo person who witnessed the short lived administration”, he explained.

Speaking further, AIC Akwarndu said that PDP is known for improved standard and welfare of the masses at all levels. He averred that this understanding of Imo people is the reason they would want to vote for the party any time, having witnessed different administrations in the state and what they brought to the table for the masses.

The former SA stated that “Ihedioha as the Leader of the PDP in the State is a  blessing to the party”, noting that his leadership style has enhanced discipline and proactiveness in the party administration at all levels. He recalled how the former governor never interfered in the last congresses that saw the emergence of credible and competent leaders of the party at all levels, while expressing confidence that with the crop of leaders in the party now, the party would always cruise to victory.

He also observed that the way and manner the PDP carried themselves throughout the process of electing a candidate for Okigwe senate shows clearly a party that is prepared to take victory at the polls.

Akwarandu congratulated Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu on his victory at the just concluded primaries, while urging him to carry everybody along in order to lead the party to a deserved victory.

He advised the aggrieved party faithful to sheath their sword and embrace the winner in working towards the emergence of PDP in the election proper. According Akwarandu, in politics, everyone must not win but the party being the only hope of Imo people should find a way to assuage the frayed nerves of the members. This he said the party leadership is committed to achieving, going by the antecedents of the State chairman.
