The chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aify Global Aluminium Limited, Engr. (Dr) Ifeanyi Nwagu has described the Nigerian women as Nation builders but regretted that discrimination has hindered them from optimizing their God given endowment for the benefit of the Nation. He advocated for more opportunity for all as obtainable in other decent climes.

Nwagu stated this on Tuesday, October 21, 2020 when the leadership of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Imo State chapter paid him a courtesy visit at the head office of Aify Global Aluminium along Egbeada Orlu Road Owerri. He urged them to remain strong and appreciate their roles as Nation Builders. According to the University of Nigerian Nsukka (UNN) trained graduate of Mechanical Engineering turned industrialist, “I acknowledge the enormous  challenges before the women but averred that such such challenges are surmountable as long as the women folks remain focused”.

Speaking further, Chief Engr. Ifeanyi Nwagu said only weak men are afraid of going into marriage or business with women of substance. For me, I consider that as complex, otherwise, why will a man prefer a puppet to a woman of substance?

Aify Global Chief Executive Officer, however regretted that politicians have mismanaged the fortunes of the country so much that greater percentage of the citizens now live from hand to mouth.”It is not getting better and it will not until the right people are elected into offices. As the watchdog of the society, I expect you to expose the ills of the society, no matter whose ox is gored”. 

Speaking earlier, the chairman of NAWOJ, Barr Vivian Ottih commended Chief Nwagu for being one the major employers of labour in Imo State. She explained how the union had followed his philanthropic activities even as a private individual and encouraged him to sustain such genuine kind gesture.

Ottih used the opportunity to inform Engr. Nwagu of their forthcoming National conference  which actual date and pleaded that the group be supported to participate like other branches across the federation.

Responding to the request, Engr. Nwagu assured the group of his support as long as they remain focused and continue to impact positively on the People.
