The Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma yesterday acknowledged that his government is still owing certain categories of workers in the state, arrears of monthly salaries wages and other entitlements.

Uzodinma stated this yesterday when he addressed Imo stakeholders in Owerri.He said that contrary to the claim by some of his appointees, he has come to realize that some Imo worker are being owed. He promised that in no distant time, the issues will be resolved, in favour of the affected workers and pensioners.

Speaking on the salary automation which has created more problems to Imo workers, arising from omission, staggered payment and short payment that have bedeviled the exercise in recent times, Uzodidnma stated that measures are being put in place to correct the mistakes so that workers can get paid as at when due process.

On the EndSARS protest, the governor said that the recent development has shown that some enemies of the state government are cashing into the protests to destabilize the state and vowed never to allow them have their nefarious and devilish ways. He said those who demolished public property in Imo are outsiders, but could not explain why those of Ehime Mbano broke into their council secretariat and vandalized the area, a development that is causing trouble among the culprits at Ehima Mbano presently as they fight each other over sharing of looted cash.

He cautioned the youths to be careful not to allow themselves become a tool in the hands of greedy politicians who are out to destroy the state. He said that he has made a vow to serve Imo people sincerely and conscientiously as directed by God.
