Extols Aify Global Aluminum CEO

By Martin Opara

The Hope Uzodinma Shared Prosperity administration unlike the previous ones, has addressed all the vices and threats that used to scare prospective investors away from the state and created enabling environment, hence Imo is now a safe haven for investors and upwardly mobile entrepreneurs.

The Commissioner for Education, Prof. BTO Ikegwuoha stated this when he paid a visit to Aify Global Aluminum Company, along Orlu road, Egbeada recently. He called on Imo sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora, to take advantage of the prevailing conducive environment and invest in the state.

The university don extolled the virtues of the Chief Executive Officer of Aify Global Aluminum, (Chief) Engr. Ifeanyi Nwagu who he described as a creative, innovative and trail blazer who courageously ventured and eventually succeeded. “(Chief) Engr. Nwagu is a focused, purposeful and courageous man who knew what he wanted from the onset and went for it. Today, he is a successful business man and employer of labour. He has provided succor for many.

I urge our youths to take a cue from him because government alone cannot provide jobs for everybody. We should learn to stand on our feet and take risks when necessary because there is no success without venture”.

He prayed God to grant him good health, more vision, wisdom and the wherewithal to continue in his service to God and humanity.

We presently live in a knowledge based economy with a competitive global free market. “There are abundant opportunities to be explored by the youths in the agricultural sector, including snailery, poultry, fishery, among others. Beside, the governor is working hard  to reduce tax rates for creative and innovative young entrepreneurs, as a way of encouraging and spurring them on”.

He also noted that prior to the emergence of Senator Uzodinma as governor, the state was enveloped by all kinds of ills, including kidnapping, armed robbery, child trafficking, etc “but the Rebuild, Recover and Reconstruct administration has, in less than one year put a functional and effective machinery in motion, to ensure the safety of lives and property of Imo people and residents. Most of the societal ills are now history”.

“The Owerri/Orlu and Owerri/Okigwe roads that the governor recently flagged off their reconstruction had been in very terrible conditions right from the Okorocha administration. The bridge after Mgbee in Orlu that had almost caved in was in that terrible condition when Okorocha was in office. Most parts of Orlu zone, including Okorocha’s community were ravaged by erosion. But Governor Uzodinma has started addressing all these challenges and more. Some of these are federal roads, but His Excellency because of his passion for the improved welfare of Imo people decided to address them”.

The Commissioner, noted that the flag off of the construction of the roads, will boost socio-economic development of the state, as goods and services will be transported with ease, in the interest of the people.

“The projects will also create jobs for our sons and daughters because some of them will supply sand, gravel etc while some will be engaged in the provision of other essential services from which they will earn income”.
