Nigerians from all walks of life, have for some time been expressing their pain and grief at the death of Chief Eddy Ihenacho (Okuenyeremba), an American trained security expert, renowned industralist and All Progressive Congress APC candidate for the Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency seat in the 2019 election, who died on 15th June 2020.

Those who recently conveyed their condolences to late Okuenyeremba’s family are the Imo State, governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma(Onwa), Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi, Enugu State governor, Engr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, former Abia State governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, among others.

Engr. Umahi, in a condolence message, dated December 4th, 2020, addressed to the deceased family described the deceased as “an accomplished entrepreneur and devout Christian who served humanity with a passionate heart”.

Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, in a condolence message dated 9th December, 2020, on behalf of the government and people of Enugu State, conveyed their deepest condolences to the family. He said, “Eddy will be remembered for his enduring legacies as a seasoned entrepreneur, politician, community leader, humanitarian, dedicated father and devout Christian”.

Former Abia State governor and Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in his condolence message addressed to late Okuenyeremba’s widow, said, “I write to convey my deepest and heartfelt condolences to you over the passage of your beloved husband. I am well aware that he was an accomplished entrepreneur, providing employment for teeming number of people. He was equally a good community leader and politician. Most importantly, his life was dedicated to God and service to humanity”.

His passage is definitely painful and untimely, the legacy of honour he left behind is sufficient consolation to the family and the entire community”. Hon. Anayo Edeh, “Eze di Nka Chukwu II of Onitcha-Agu, Nkanu land, Enugu State, in his condolence message addressed to Hon. Dr. Hillary Agim Ihenacho, said, “though Chief Eddy Ihenacho’s untimely demise poses enormous challenges and creates a vacuum, we should be consoled by the fact that he led a meaningful life and recorded great achievements in politics and in business. Let these accomplishments be sustained as his legacies and be harnessed for the good of all those he left behind”.

Meanwhile, the burial ceremony of Chief Eddy Ihenacho has been fixed for December 30,2020 at his compound, Umuafor, Orlu in Orlu Local Government area of Imo State.
