·        Provost commended for administrative ingenuity

The Imo State College of Nursing Sciences and Midwifery, Orlu over the weekend organized its Student Union Government (SUG) election under the supervision of the Department of State Security (DSS), NANS Joint Campus Committee led by Comrade Joy Gerald and  other stakeholders.

The election which was free, fair and transparent produced Obinna Uchenna as President of the SUG while Eze Favour emerged as the Vice President.

According to a release dated December, 11, 2021 signed by the “ISIEC’ Chairman, Comrade Eze Mirian, NAN J.CC. Coordinator, Comrade Gerald Joy and the Dean of the school (Students) Njoku Ijeoma, other members of the executive who emerged at the election are Egbom Constance, Secretary, Okere Signora, Welfare Officer, Chigozie Chizitere, Assistant Director of Social and Kingsley Chibuike.

Students who spoke to this reporter, including members of the new SUG executive commended the Acting Provost,Mrs Hnannah Offor for what they referred to as her, “administrative ingenuity and excellent management-student relationship which has enhanced peace and mutual co-existence in the institution culminating in a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning.

They also extolled her for her determination to ensure that the school which has for many years operated without a functional SUG to articulate the views of the students and liase with management if and when necessary has eventually conducted a credible, free, fair and transparent election that produced genuine and acceptable SUG executive under Mrs Hannah Offor’s watch as Acting Provost.”
