In what could be described as a solidarity grand reception, PDP stakeholders in Ahiazu Mbaise yesterday trooped out  enmasse at the residence of Chief Barr PGU Madu to receive Hon Uche Onyeagucha, a foremost PDP Senatorial aspirant in the state on his consultation visit to the area.


 The outing  which was a continuation of Onyeagucha’s consultation visit across the nine  local governments in Owerri Zone was attended by arrays of  PDP critical stakeholders  in Ahiazu Mbaise comprising;   all principal officers of PDP in all the 12 wards of Ahiazu Mbaise, the local government party Executives, PDP leaders in Ahiazu Mbaise and other respected and titled leaders of the area.

Hon Onyeagucha whose  arrival at the venue was greeted with a glamorous reception  by  PDP leaders  in Ahiazu Mbaise who couldn’t hide their joy in having Hon Onyeagucha emerge as senator for the zone. 


In his opening remark, the PDP apex leader in Ahiazu Mbaise, Barr PGU Madu thanked all the PDP stakeholders in Ahiazu Mbaise for coming out in their numbers to receive Hon Onyeagucha whom he described as a committed PDP leader and man of capacity. ” I know what Hon Onyeagucha can do if given the opportunity, he is not materialistic. We served together in the government of Hon Emeka Ihedioha, Onyeagucha was instrumental to the success of that administration” . Barr Madu added that since Onyeagucha declared interest to run for Senate he has been engaged on issue-based campaign not propaganda or malignancy. He assured Hon Onyeagucha of their support. 


 Onyeagucha who was dressed in his usual  spotless immaculate white “senator” with red chieftaincy cap and white shoe thanked the PDP stakeholders in Ahiazu Mbaise for the warmth and solidarity reception they gave  him . He said he came to acquaint them of his intention to run for Owerri Senatorial election and at the same time seek their massive support for the election. He pointed out that with his cognitive experience as a former federal lawmaker he will provide a qualitative and responsible representation for his people. Hon Onyeagucha added that Owerri zone has lost alot as a result of poor representation and marginalization and promised to provide effective representation if elected as a Senator.

The former Secretary to the Government of Imo state went further to solicit for the support of PDP LEADERS in the area saying that his emergence will pave way for the realization of Owerri governorship in 2023. ” I have never relented in defending and speaking for the interest of my people, I shall be a strong voice for Owerri zone and Ndigbo at large.”


In his reaction, a Frontline PDP leader in Ahiazu Mbaise Dr Sunny Ogulewe described Hon Onyeagucha as “Dimkpa” who was instrumental to the realization of Mbaise Governorship project. He noted that Ndi Mbaise are yet to pay him back the sacrifice he made for the realization of Mbaise Governorship project. ” He went to cell and was detained because of Ndi Mbaise , we are yet to pay him back, and the payback time is here”, he declared.


Other leaders who spoke at the visit assured Onyeagucha of their massive support and solidarity and prayed God to always be with him. The PDP chairman of Ahiazu Mbaise Hon Chris Anyanwu said what Owerri zone is a man of capacity like Onyeagucha who has been tested and trusted .

He promised Hon Onyeagucha of their support.  Those present at the visit include; all the statutory delegates from the 12 wards of Ahiazu Mbaise,  the PDP LGA officers ,top leaders of the party like; Barr PGU Madu, Dr Sonny Ogulewe, Hon Sam Ahiarakwe, Hon Steve Onu, Barr Bede Ojimadu, Mrs Martha Ohaeri, Hon Rich Iwu, Hon Dom Okoro, Nze Chidi Adi, Hon Anselem Obasi, Chief Joe Ehioma, Hon Rex Okoro, Chief Godwin Anyanwu, Chief Leo Okeahialam and Engr Bath Onyekwere. Others include; Hon Chukwuma Chilaka, Chief B.O Nwoga, Mrs Uche Onu, Chief Jimmy Ibe, and so many other notable leaders in Ahiazu Mbaise.
