Itu Development Union, the apex socio-cultural umbrella body of the indigenes of Itu, in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, at home and in the Diaspora has unequivocally stated that Mr Ben Adindu who they accused of falsely parading himself as the traditional ruler of the community does not have the peoples mandate and is therefore not recognized as the traditional ruler of the community.

This was contained in a release signed by Engr Nnanyereugo Osuagwu and Ezinna Bernard Onwunali as President General and Secretary General of Itu Development Union (IDU) respectively.

They accused Mr Adindu who they described as an impostor, desperate to sit on the community’s Ezeship stool which he is not qualified to occupy, of instigating confusion, rancor and acrimony with a view to heat up the polity, polarize the system to achieve his selfish and ulterior motive which according to them is not in tandem with the age-long customary and traditional norms and values of Itu autonomous community.

They called on the state government and other relevant agencies to call him to order and curtail his excesses, to avoid a breakdown of law and order in the community.
