Gives Reason Why He Should Be Voted

The Imo governorship Candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) High Chief Kemdi Chino Opara, has described himself as a special candidate in the Imo governorship race going by his wealth of knowledge, leadership expertise, administrative acumen and the liberation vision he has for the state.

Chief Opara stated this during a press conference in his hometown at Obazu Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State, where he highlighted his agenda for Imo State which were centered on Security, Infrastructure, Education, Health care and Economic Development.

According to him, Imo is in serious trouble in this present administration and all hands must be on deck to recover Imo State from further damages, adding that Imolites have stomached a lot and suffered a great deal as a result of bad governance.

His words, “Insecurity is our major problem and the reason why nothing is working in the state. There is economic collapse because no individual or company can invest in an insecure state.Tourism is non existent in Imo. Education is in a very sad condition.  There is infrastructural decay and destruction in the state. Everything that is disturbing Imolites is centered on Insecurity.

“Insecurity problem cannot be solved without a change in leadership. I am running for governorship position not because I want to be a governor but because I have the solution to our problems. Being in power gives one all it takes to change the narratives.

“Imo has never had it well in leadership. There is no continuity in Imo leadership, every governor that comes to power, first destroys the legacies of his predecessors. These legacies being destroyed in a jiffy were built with our resources and funds. Where are we headed with this pattern?.

“LGA autonomy is lost. Calculate the amount of money that is supposed to go to our LGAs for four years of Uzodinma’s administration and weep at the huge amount of money being pocketed and unaccounted for by one man. With LGA allocations channelled to the right direction many problems in our rural areas can be solved and Insecurity largely doused.

“There are over 360 erosion sites in Imo. We can foster development in our villages and communities when we give autonomy to the LGAs. LGA hospitals and health centers are supposed to function effectively and well facilitated.

“Education is the mainstay of every state. As an educationist, I am committed to repositioning our Educational sector and as well make it very attractive to be a teacher. Elementary School teachers should be paid higher because of their tasking jobs.  Our elementary schools are nothing to write home about. Teachers are being owed.

How can two teachers teach in a whole school and the government is comfortable with that. If a leader does not value Education, he can’t invest in it. No Imo governor has reviewed our Educational curriculumdm

“As a governor, I will bring the state to the limelight. I will market the state. Investors will troop in. I’m a marketer and can sell anything.

I will build a great road network, boost our economy using things that are neglected. I will form a unity government. I will reform civil service. Pensioners will be paid. Ghost workers will be cleared.

“Money Politics have failed us. We are now talking of ideas. When I win, I will become the governor of all and carry everyone along notwithstanding party affiliations. Being the governor doesn’t mean I can’t be corrected. If I’m wrong, I should be corrected and I must take corrections. I will accept genuine and reasonable ideas from anyone to move the state forward.

“I’m a special candidate in this race. I’m highly educated, experienced, visionary, versatile and purpose driven. I don’t have a godfather. I don’t have anyone to give account to except the masses that voted me. Let’s take back Imo. Let’s liberate Imo”.
