The candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in the November, 11, 2023 governorship election in Imo State, Hon Uche Ben Odunzeh has denied reports in some sections of the media that he has withdrawn the suit he filed at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

Odunze, who made his stand known in a statement captioned, “Re- Withdrawal Of NNPP Petition Against Governor Hope Uzodinma Reelection Victory”, which he personally signed, affirmed that, “My attention has been drawn to a news on some sections of the media attributed to one Godstime Chukwubuikem claiming to have withdrawn my petition in the imo state Governorship Election Tribunal challenging the victory of Senator Hope Uzodinmma as the winner of the November 11th, 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.

“This is to state categorically that our petition in the election tribunal is still subsisting as the said Godstime Chukwubuikem is an interloper and has no locus to withdraw a suit he is not party to. Understandably, the economic hardship in the country must have led Godstime into this shameful boasting as he is a known transactional politician and shoe shiner.

“Our suit is marked EPT/IM/GOV/02/2023 and not EPT/IM/GOV/15/2023 as claimed by the inconsistent Godstime Chukwubuikem. For clarification purpose, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) is not the plantiff in the originating suit rather myself Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh. He was solely on a mission to hoodwink his targets for his selfish gain.

“The public and the good people of Imo state is urged to disregard the claim of Godstime Chukwubuikem in it’s entirety as fake and handiwork of a hungry pig looking for crumbs to feed on.

Conclusively, our suit marked EPT/IM/GOV/02/2023 is alive and subsisting in the tribunal. We are resolute in quashing the fraudulent exercise of November 11,2023 called election and determined to challenge it up to the supreme court.

“Thank you all.

Hon. Uche Ben Odunzeh 2023 Imo state Governorship Candidate, NNPP”.
