–      Urges Him To Set Up Economic Team

Imolites For Good Governance IFGG, a group committed to the socio-economic development of Imo State, has commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for being very thorough in his choice of the Commissioner nominees that were screened and confirmed by the Imo State House of Assembly, on Thursday, March, 7, 2024.

The leader of the group, Comrade Gideon Nwadialu, while addressing newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital yesterday, commended the Governor “for adopting a different approach unlike in the last dispensation when the appointments he made were not based on merit, track record and the capacity to deliver but on political favouritism which made it look more like dispensing political patronage to supporters”.

According to Nwadialu, “the recent list of Commissioner nominees which Governor Uzodinma sent to the House of Assembly for confirmation contains the names of credible men of integrity who have the capacity to add value to the Governor’s vision and mission in line with the 3R mantra of his administration”.

They however, urged the Governor to establish an Economic Team that will be saddled with the responsibility of articulating a blue print that will cushion the effects of the excruciating  hardship occasioned by the sky rocketing cost of living, pointing out that this is not the time for politics but time to deliver on his campaign promises.

“If the Governor does the needful in line with the expectations of Imo people, posterity will remember him favourably. He should borrow a leaf from Governor Otti of Abia State, who has within few months in office endeared himself to the people of Abia State who hold him in very high esteem because of his outstanding performance”.

The group also advised the Governor not to create numerous political offices that will drain the scarce resources of the state, as this will not only be counter productive but will also negate his orchestrated determination to correct past administrative lapses that affected the state negatively in different ways.
