Obi Mbieri Town Union will on the 4th of May, 2024 hold its general elections at the Obi Mbieri Town Union/Market Square by 11am.
The release signed by the Obi Mbieri Town Union 2024 Central Electoral Committee, revealed that interested aspirants should get the form through any of the electoral committee members and make payments to the Obi Mbieri Town Union Account at Zenith Bank PLC, then present payment receipt to the Committee Chairman, Secretary or Assistant Secretary for proper documentation.
The release also disclosed that the cost of the form for Chairmanship position is #20000, deputy Chairmanship and Secretarial positions are #10000 respectively while all other positions are 1000 for each.
The Release further reads,
” Procedure:
1. The sale of forms and submissions are from (April 23rd to 26th).
Participants must belong to their respective Village/Town Meetings to qualify. All old and new members are encouraged to participate in or contest in the election.
2. Voting is by secret ballot to be made and counted publicly.
3. The post of the Director General is zoned to either Ebom, Ohuohia, Umuagwu or Umuduru. Deputy Director General position shall go to any of the six towns of Obi Mbieri.
4. Screening starts from April 27th and ends April 28th.
5. Each town should submit names of their delegates on or before April 29th, 2024 to vote in the election.
It is worthy to note that any town that fails to produce their delegates will be recorded as having no objections with the outcome of the election.
6. Campaigns start on the 30th of April and ends on the 3rd of May, 2024 by 7pm.
7. Voting Proper is on the 4th of May, 2024.
8. SSCE/WAEC are the minimum educational qualifications for aspirants or its equivalent.
