– Says: He Has No Time For Civil Proceeding
The appoinment of the former manager of the defunt intercontinental bank plc manager and Bursar of Imo state Polytechinic,Mr Linud Okafor has elicted mixed reaction among the Civil servants who opined that due process was not followed,adding that if the governor consulted widly,he would not have even appointed Okafor Accountant General letalone Permanent Secretary.
They maintained that Okafor is grossly incompetent to hold such position,going by his backgrond and lack of requisite credential for such job.
Some of the civil Servants who spoke on condition of anoymity for fear of being victimized averred that it is shocking that Okafor who was never a civil servant could be appointed as Permanent Secretary 6 years after he became Accountant General.
One of the Sources asked,”how do I explain to the junior civil servants that someone who was bank manager in 2013,bacame Bursar of Imopoly in 2014 till 2019 when he left as Bursar of Imopoly could be made Accountant General in 2025 and now permanent Secretary leaving out those who have put in several years in the service.
Okafor who was recently accused of filing a petition to security agents in Imo against the managment of Nigeria Watchdog Newpaper for exposing how civil Servants and Pensioners have been shortchanged by his office owing to docility of his office as Accountant General.
It was gathered that,Okafor was quoted as saying that he has no time to file a civil suite against the Newspaper,hence his decision to approach DSS and police.
