The Ihiagwa Clan in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State will on Thursday July 24, 2025 celebrate the Odu Ukwu Ihiagwa cultural festival in grand style.
A release signed by the Traditional ruler of Dindi Ihiagwa autonomous community, His Royal Highness, Eze Kingsley Ezewunwa Odu, Dindi I of Dindi Ihiagwa autonomous community, Sir Jonas Ajoku the Traditional Prime Minister/Regent of Ihiagwa autonomous community, Presidents General of Dindi and Ihiagwa autonomous communities, Hon Chief Ohakwe Anayo Eugene JP and Hon Chief Kenneth Mgbachi JP respectively stated that the festival will hold at the Ezi Eze Iriamogu, Dindi Ihiagwa under the supervision of the organizing committee comprising Hon Okere Kelechukwu John, President Iriegbe Nshi Ato Welfare Association, (INWA) the Chief Priest, Eze Aro Benjamin Osunkwo, Ndubuisi Umunnakwe, General Secretary, INWA, Hon Chief Ohakwe Anayo Eugene, President General, Dindi autonomous community and Hon Chief Kenneth Mgbachi JP, President General Ihaigawa autonomous community.
The Ihiagwa Clan, in its usual unparalleled disposition to hospitapitality invites relatives, inlaws, friends and well wishers to the age-long cultural festival that is very significant.
Speaking to our reporter, Hon Comrade Okere Kelechukwu John, President, INWA, described by many as a seasoned result oriented community leader and grassroots mobilizer said, “We celebrate the annual Odu Ukwu Ihiagwa cultural festival before eating the new yam. It is very symbolic .This year’s event will be grand and memorable because all stakeholders have meticulously done the needful with a view to ensuring a successful and hitch-free event that will be a reference point for a very long time.”
