The Excellence Awards Owerri West 2025 is a visionary initiative of Hope4OurYouth Foundation, in partnership with the Office of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Victor Osuigwe. This prestigious program aims to identify, celebrate and promote exceptional young talents across Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State, Nigeria.
The event holds on the 5th Day of September, 2025, at the Event Hall of Owerri West Council, Umuguma, by 1: PM.
Following the pre-events of the maiden edition of the awards, Mr. Esoro Phils Obi, the founder of the Foundation who hails from Mgbolo Okuku, Owerri West, based in the USA, is very elated about the preparations, stateing that Youth Excellence Awards 2025 will be away from the norm of activities such as the anticipated program in the history of awards ceremony in Owerri West, on the basis of factual merits and an eventual realistic benefits.
On the just concluded World Youth Day held on the 12th of August, 2025, H4OY had a Zoom Meeting containing members of H4OYF from Nigeria and USA alongside various stakeholders including the President of Wold Owerri People’s Congress (WOPC), Nze Ben Azunna, who hails from Obinze, Owerri West, as issues concerning drug abuse among the youth and poverty were tackled.
Some participants attributed this menace as a result of poverty and frustration, thereby calling on government especial to do more in bringing succor and hope to the youth especially.
Esoro was emphatic that government alone cannot salvage the deficit in youth growth and development, hence H4OYF is collaborating with the Owerri West Local Government to recognize, award and encourage youths with exceptional abilities to keep raising their flags high without losing hope.
Esoro said such hope will be activated again in Sept 5th, 2025 at Owerri West headquarters with this award where 21 youths with exceptional abilities from 21 communities of Owerri West will be recognized and awarded, serving as a spring board to enroll into a program that can help them to work in the United States of America to sustain their abilities courtesy of H4OYF.
He noted that the entry for the Youth Excellence Awards will be ending on the 23rd of August, 2025, saying chances are still available by logging on to www.hope4ouryouth.org/awards.
He explained that Icing of the Cake will be that – all shortlisted awardees will be uploaded on a voting platform for the Best Owerri West Excellent Youth of the Year 2025 with their pictures on display and a brief Citation. The link will be shareable.
He stressed that the people will vote for them and the voting process will stop before the event which will be on the 5th of September, 2025.
Any contestant who polls the highest vote will be decorated as the Excellent Youth of the Year, but all will still be awarded while one contestant will be crowned the Best.
The event will take place at the Event Hall of the Owerri West Council headquarters, Umuguma on the 5th of September, 2025, by 1: PM.
