In a landmark move aimed at deepening grassroots engagement and consolidating unity across Orlu Zone, the President General of Orluzurumee, Rt. Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nzekwe, has formally inaugurated coordinators for the twelve Local Government Areas that make up the zone.
The ceremony, which took place at the Conference Room of the PG’s Owerri office, attracted some key stakeholders.
In his keynote address, Hon. Nzekwe described the inauguration as a strategic step towards repositioning Orluzurumee for proactive grassroots participation, cultural revitalization, and regional development. He charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to be worthy ambassadors of the organization and serve as unifying forces within their respective localities.
“The future of Orluzurumee lies in the ability of our leaders at all levels to unite, enlighten, and empower our people. You are not just coordinators; you are torchbearers of a renewed vision for Ndi Orlu Zone,” he declared.
“Today, we entrust leadership at the grassroots to trusted sons and daughters of Orlu Zone who will serve as bridges between the people and the vision of Orluzurumee. You will be our ears, our eyes, and our voice in your respective LGAs. You are to promote unity, peace, and the strategic ideals of our sociocultural mission,” he concluded.
The newly inaugurated LGA coordinators who represent the twelve local governments of Orlu Zone: Orlu, Oru East, Oru West, Oguta, Ohaji/Egbema, Njaba, Nwangele, Nkwerre, Ideato North, Ideato South, Isu, and Orsu are:
1. Ichie Louis Okafor – Orlu LGA
2. Chief Nze Hyginus Nlemchi – Oru East
3. Evang. Ikechukwu Favour Ononiwu – Oru West
4. Nze Madubueze Eugene Onyeaka – Oguta
5. Akumefula Moses I. – Ohaji/Egbem
6. Prince Sochima Ozumba (Ononaenyi) – Orsu
7. High Chief Nze Ahamefula – Nkwerre
8. Hon Benard Onuoha – Nwangele
9. Chief Fidelis Akamere – Isu
10. Chief Peter Ezenwa – Ideator North
11. High Chief Chris O. Nwando Ph.D, JP – Ideator South
12. Comrade Chris Okechukwu – Njaba
The newly inaugurated coordinators pledged unwavering loyalty to the ideals of Orluzurumee and expressed their collective readiness to synergize with the central leadership to actualize the vision and mission of Orluzurumee by galvanizing community support, promoting peace and advancing the zone’s collective interests.
In a chat after their inauguration ceremony, the Orlu Coordinator; Nze Louis Chiege Okafor opined;
“We understand the assignment, and we are committed to serving diligently. The grassroots will feel the presence and purpose of Orluzurumee like never before.”
Highlights of the event included the administration of the oath of service and presentation of official documents to the coordinators.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in Orluzurumee’s ongoing efforts to build a more inclusive and people-driven movement, to deepen its impact and relevance across Orlu Zone and the larger Igbo sociocultural landscape.
