-Threatens Court Action

A popular youth activist and social crusader, Comrade Firstchoice Nwadike, has berated one Monsignor John Ukwuoma of the Orlu Catholic diocese for allegedly deceiving his father, a retired Director of Schools in Orlu zone into signing an Affidavit for the Catholic Archdiocese against the Orlu Community where he comes from.

This, he said, shows the level of desperation the church  has exhibited in their quest to clandestinely take possession of the vast expanse of land by hook crook.

Firstchoice who spoke with this reporter through the phone stated this while reacting to a recent report published by the Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, where his father, Chief Dominic Nwadike withdrew as a witness for the Catholic church in Suit No/ HOR/48/2025 between the latter and land owners of the Old Imo State Polytechnic premises that has been a subject of litigation.

According to Firstchoice, his father who has been sick for sometime now, was approached by Monsignor Ukwuoma under the guise of praying for him, not knowing that his motive was to hoodwink him into signing an Affidavit.

He also stated that his father, who innocently responded to some of the questions posed by Ukwuoma who asked him the difference between BSC and Bishop Shenaham College, Orlu, among other  questions did not suspect foul play, until his name was surprisingly, included as one of the witnesses for the Catholic Church without his approval or that of his children.”To worsen the case, they ended up saying things my father never said”.

This development, according to him really embarrassed their family. Hence they consider it a serious aberration that borders on deceit and criminal inclination.

“Though Monsignor Ukwuoma was my father’s benefactor at some point in time, my father also assisted him to a great extent when he was a seminarian. That is why I am still wondering why he chose to deceive him into signing an Affidavit in support of the Catholic church’s questionable plot to acquire land that does not belong to them.”

According to First Choice, he is already consulting his Lawyer on the matter.”We may be left with no other option than to sue anybody behind the plot to rubbish our father’s hard earned reputation”.

Commenting on the development, a community leader in Orlu who  expressed disappointment that neither the Catholic Church nor Monsignor Ukwuoma has shown empathy since his father became sick, despite his enormous contributions to the  growth and development of the church.
