The Commissioners of Youth in APC controlled states in Nigeria, operating under the auspices of Progressive Youth Commissioners Forum, had successfully held its quarterly strategic meeting in Owerri, the Imo State capital, during the week.
The Forum seized the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, whom it praised for initiating and executing projects that strengthen productivity, tourism, thereby enhancing development and the economy of the state.
In a communique read by the host, Secretary of the Forum and Imo State Commissioner for Youth, Development and Talent Hunt, Dr. Emeka Mandela Ukaegbu, said the meeting was designed to strengthen collaboration with the Federal Government and Governors to empower and advance youth development in APC controlled states.
Ukaegbu added that government would equally and richly partner with private entrepreneurs, groups and organizations to engage the youth in vocations, digital skills and other meaningful activities, saying when the youth are richly productively engaged, crime, violence and insecurity would be stamped out entirely with peace and orderliness being the order of the day.
Reflecting that the Renewed Hope Agenda is deeply committed to implementing policies that give impetus to youth rejuvenation, the Commissioners stated that the Forum has been firmly galvanizing youths and mobilizing them to give over 12 million votes to APC to enable the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
