The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of AIFY Global Aluminum company Ltd, Engr. Athan Ifeanyichukwu Nwagu, has been conferred with the Great Achiever Award by the National Association of Electronic Media Presenters of Nigeria (NAEMPON) in recognition of his business acumen, quality service delivery and contributions to societal growthand development, including the media.

The Award was conferred on the Orlu born business mogul during the 4th Anniversary of NAEMPON, held on Friday, at Rockview Hotel Owerri, wirh jubilation and fun fare.

Presenting the Award to the recipient, President of NAEMPON, Amb. Jerry Osuji, disclosed that the Great Achiever Award conferred on Engr. Athan Ifeanyichukwu Nwagu was in recognition of his numerous contributions to the development and growth of the media and the society at large.

The broadcasters lauded the renowned philanthropist and entrepreneur for being media friendly and supportive to NAEMPON, as well as extending charity to humanity, particularly the less-privileged.

Responding, the Awardee said the honor would spur him to intensify his humanitarian gesture, and support to the media.

“I express profound gratitude to NAEMPON for recognizing my contributions and affection for humanity. The Award will spur me to intensify benevolence, humanitarian service, as well as strive to enhance development in the state”, Nwagu added.

While stating that broadcasting is a solid platform that informs, educates and entertains people and makes them happy, the AIFY Global Aluminum CEO, encouraged members of NAEMPON to maintain media ethics while being objective in the performance of their duties, shun false information in order not to put the society aflame.

“Broadcasters should stick to truth and balanced information. The media should not broadcast negative information that may heat up the polity. The social media is always awash with fake news, many of which are inflammatory.”

“I urge you to use the media to propagate positivity and the good image of Imo State which is now peaceful, more beautiful and infrastructurally edifying. Governor Hope Uzodimma is doing well especially in the areas of road construction, ICT or technology, agriculture and education”, he said.

Nwagu, who was the Chairman of the occasion, also thanked Chief Chidi Ibeh, former Commissioner for Information and others for accompanying him to the event which had captains of industry, technocrats, politicians and Imo based journalists in attendance.
