The Coronation Committee Secretary said the coronation of Ezeoma II marks a pivotal moment in its journey toward greater unity and development, affirming that the culturally rich and peace-loving community stands at the threshold of a new and significant era with great pride and profound reverence for tradition.
“The Coronation Committee joyfully announces the coronation of HRH, Eze Aloysius Ozoemena Igwe JP, as Chinemeze 1, Ezeoma 2, Igwe Alaoma Owerre-Ebeiri.
“This event is not merely a ceremonial transition; it is the flourishing of a legacy that began in 2010, when Alaoma Owerre-Ebeiri was granted autonomous status during the administration of Governor Ikedi Ohakim. The community’s first traditional ruler, the late HRH, Eze A. K. O. Ikegwoha, Ezeoma I, alongside the pioneer Town Union President, Prof. Jude Egwurugwu, laid a formidable foundation of unity, progress and cultural pride.
“Following the peaceful passing of Ezeoma I in 2022, a meticulous and prayerful process of selection, in accordance with our customs and modern governance, has ushered in a successor chosen to build upon this enduring foundation.
“Eze Aloysius Ozoemena Igwe JP, ascends the throne as a leader distinguished by his integrity, community devotion and visionary outlook. His title, Chinemeze, “God makes a King”, reflects the divine providence and collective hope embodied in his reign. As Ezeoma II, he is called to be both a custodian of our rich heritage and a catalyst for sustainable development, education and social harmony in a rapidly evolving world.
“The coronation day will commence with a Solemn Concelebrated Mass at 11:00 a.m., underscoring the deep spiritual consciousness that guides our community. This blend symbolizes the harmonious duality of our identity—rooted in faith and fortified by culture. The event will be a vibrant tapestry of royal splendour, cultural displays and expressions of solidarity, attended by distinguished guests from across the kingdom, Imo State and beyond.
“Engr. Ossai Eze, Chairman of the Coronation Committee, states that “this coronation is a celebration of continuity. We are bridging the revered legacy of our past with the dynamic promise of our future. Eze Aloysius Ozoemena Igwe embodies the wisdom, strength and compassion needed to lead Alaoma Owerre-Ebeiri into its next chapter of growth and distinction. We invite all sons, daughters, friends and well-wishers to join us in witnessing this historic ascent.”
“The Coronation Committee has meticulously planned a dignified and memorable event that builds faith in the Supreme God and honours tradition, while embracing the community’s collective aspirations, he said.
He said the Alaoma Owerre-Ebeiri Development Union President and the Traditional Prime Minister, alongside the entire Cabinet, Kindred Heads and the community, extend a heartfelt and cordial invitation to friends, well-wishers, government officials, traditional rulers from far and wide, the media and all sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to join in this unique celebration of heritage and continuity.
“This will be followed by the rich, colorful traditional rites of coronation, cultural displays and festivities befitting the installation of a monarch. Attire: Traditional or Formal.
