-Insists on Accountability

Orluzurummee, the apex socio-cultural umbrella organization of the twelve local government areas in Orlu Zone, has declared its resolve to publicly assess the performance of all those representing the zone at the State and National Assemblies, with a view to holding them accountable to their constituents whose mandate they have exercised in trust for over two years.

The organization made this known in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Nnamdi Cos Ukwuoma, and made available to the press.

According to Ukwuoma, in the release titled “Accountability Revolution: Orluzurummee to Begin Public Scorecard for Lawmakers,” the initiative is aimed at ensuring accountability, deepening democratic participation, and accelerating regional development.

“Orluzurummee has resolved to commence a comprehensive performance rating of all state and federal legislators representing the zone. The evaluation will be rigorous, transparent, community-driven, and completely non-partisan. It is designed to provide the first-ever consolidated, evidence-based scorecard of lawmakers serving the 12 local government areas of Orlu Zone,” the statement read.

The group described the initiative as the first accountability framework of its kind in the zone, noting that lawmakers’ performances will be measured across five key areas:

  1. Legislative Performance (bills, motions, debates, and oversight functions)
  2. Constituency Engagement and Accessibility
  3. Project Delivery and Empowerment Initiatives
  4. Development Advocacy and Government Partnership
  5. Support to the Governor and Stakeholders in Restoring Security

Orluzurummee further disclosed that the outcome of the assessment would be subjected to review by its President-General, Council of Elders, and Stakeholders Forum before the final report is approved and made public.

The group emphasized that the initiative is not intended to witch-hunt or embarrass any individual or group, but rather to inspire quality service delivery, amplify the voice of the people, and enhance the collective pursuit of peace, progress, and development across Orlu Zone.

Commenting on the President of Orluzurummee, Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe, said:
