Transformation is defined as change made in any sector. The sector could be governmental, religious, family or non governmental.
Transformation is necessary in the lives of individuals, ministries as well as various corporate bodies, as it brings about newness of things.
Activities cannot remain the same, nobody does things periodically in the same way and expects a different result. To make a difference, the status quo must be addressed.
In this article, we are going to look at the Imo State Ministry of Local Government And Chieftaincy Affairs, under Honourable Rubby Emele as the Commissioner, the changes so far made under limited time in office.
Before talking about transformations in the ministry of Local Government And Chieftaincy Affairs, we must try to ascertain the previous state of the ministry.
One of the reasons for the creation of the ministry of Local Government And Chieftaincy Affairs, is to generate revenue for the government, such revenue being used for Infrastructural development such as roads, water, schools, hospitals, electricity, etc.
Previously, the ministry did not fully achieve excellence due to red tapism in the civil service.
Therefore, transformation is urgently needed in the ministry by a selfless leader who thinks about the welfare of the government. Because of this, the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma appointed and re-appointed Honourable Rubby Emele as the commissioner for Local Government And Chieftaincy Affairs, to correct the damages done by others.
The ministry is no longer how it was. The ministry has witnessed good changes. The presence of Emele has attracted quality staff turn out. There is rapport among staff which justifies the saying that together we stand, divided we fall. This signifies unity in the ministry.
Imo State government is presently having accountable revenue to take care of the affairs of the state. Again, there is Infrastructural transformation in the ministry which has given further advantages to the welfare of staff.
Under Emele, the ministry operates according to established rules and regulations. The division of labour among staff of the ministry has brought about specialization and productivity.
The various transformational agenda established by Emele, are so unprecedented and at the same time quintessential as it is what others failed to do as well as serving as examples to the future generations.
The people of Imo State are generally happy with Emele’s transformational agenda as they are promises made, promises fulfilled.
Emele should be given the opportunity to continue serving in government, even after her commissionership positions. She can be made a minister, ambassador, governor, senator and the president of our dear nation, Nigeria. One good turn, deserves another. The reward for a job well done is more higher job.
