-As Youth president, Obiefule Urges Orlu sons and daughters to invest at home
An industrialist and employer of labour, High Chief Kingsley Ozurumba Okehie, the Chief Executive Officer of OKONEC Pharmaceuticals & Chemical Company Nig Ltd, has assured the Orluzurumee Youth Assembly of his readiness to partner with the group in helping youths of Orlu Senatorial Zone acquire relevant skills, particularly in ICT and computer literacy.
Okehie gave the assurance when he received the leadership of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly who paid him a courtesy visit at his company located in Umuapu Ohaji on Friday.
He stated that the acquisition of practical skills would make young people more viable, productive, self-reliant, and capable of contributing meaningfully to the peace, economic growth and sustainable development in the Orlu Senatorial Zone.
The renowned businessman, who has employed many youths from Orlu Zone in his company, said he will remain committed to peace, unity and development, adding that he will not relent in contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic advancement of the oil-rich zone and Imo State at large.
“Orluzurumee Youth Assembly is doing well. I encourage the leaders to continue playing positive roles that will advance the progress of Orlu Senatorial Zone.
“Youths are indeed catalysts for positive development. I will always support the youth as they work for the interest of the people of Orlu Zone,” Okehie stated.
While advising youths not to allow themselves to be manipulated or compromised by self-serving politicians who he said do not genuinely care about the welfare of the people, the business tycoon and illustrious son of Umudioka Ancient Kingdom in Orlu LGA, urged them to always support credible, accountable and God-fearing leaders who are poised to genuinely meet the needs and aspirations of the society.
He also called on government at all levels to utilize the resources from oil and gas producing communities to directly improve the lives of the people through infrastructural development, provision of employment opportunities and economic empowerment, stressing that such measures would strengthen peace, economic prosperity and development.
Speaking earlier, the National President of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, Prince Izunna Obiefule, described Okehie as a humanitarian and industrialist par excellence who has remained committed to youth empowerment and the development of Orlu Zone.
“High Chief Kingsley Ozurumba Okehie is a thoughtful individual who believes strongly in rendering selfless services to humanity. He relocated his company from Lagos to Umuapu in Ohaji/Egbema LGA within Orlu Zone. He is a true proponent of the ‘Aku Ruo Ulo’ philosophy. We call on other wealthy sons and daughters of Orlu Zone to emulate his example.
“He has done more for the people than many elected public office holders because he believes in democracy, human values and social justice. His contributions to humanity cannot be over emphasized,” Obiefule maintained.
