The Labour Party candidate for Owerri Federal Constituency in the 2027 House of Representatives election, Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, popularly known as Ada Owere 1, has announced the appointment of PrinceJoseph Nwosu-Okorie as the Director General of the Ada Owere Campaign Organisation.
The appointment, which became effective on June 1, 2026, is expected to bolster grassroots mobilization and deepen engagement with critical stakeholders across the constituency, which comprises Owerri Municipal, Owerri North and Owerri West Local Government Areas.
PrinceJoseph Nwosu-Okorie is a native of Umuamaram, Umunkwo Umuguma Autonomous Community in Owerri West Local Government Area. He is the Founder of PrinceJoseph Care Initiative and Chairman of South-View International Schools. He is also known for his involvement in humanitarian causes, education, youth development and community service.
In his new role, PrinceJoseph will lead the operations of the Ada Owere Campaign Organisation, coordinate campaign structures, foster relationships with stakeholders and provide strategic direction as the Labour Party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general election.
Reacting to the appointment, PrinceJoseph thanked Dr. Akeredolu for finding him worthy of the responsibility and pledged to work towards the realization of the campaign’s objectives.
According to him, the appointment represents a call to service that requires commitment, integrity and diligence.
He said he was honoured by the trust placed in him by Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu and expressed confidence that, with the support of party leaders, support groups, women, youths and community leaders, the campaign would build a broad-based movement that reflects the yearnings and aspirations of the people.
He further stated that the campaign would prioritize inclusive development, women empowerment, youth participation, infrastructure renewal, healthcare delivery, education, security and the creation of economic opportunities.
PrinceJoseph also noted that the campaign would place emphasis on community engagement and ensure that the voices and concerns of the people are reflected through participatory leadership.
Political observers believe the appointment marks the beginning of a wider grassroots mobilization effort as the Labour Party candidate prepares for the 2027 polls.
Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu is seeking to represent Owerri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Labour Party.
