• Advocate Enhanced Security Along Agwa-Izombe Axis

The Youths of Orlu zone under the auspices of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly (OYA) has commended the governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodinma for the massive road infrastructure projects executed by his administration across the twelve Local Government Areas of Orlu Zone.

The group stated this shortly after a meeting of the National Executive Council held at its National Headquarters on Saturday June 27, 2026.

According to a release si reports from the Coordinators of the twelve component local government councils in the senatorial zone, indicate that Governor Uzodinma’s 3-R administration has recorded landmark achievements in the area of road infrastructure.

This was contained in a release issued by the Publicity Secretary of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, Ikenna Orioha.

According to him, “the governor’s achievements has continued to stimulate peace, enhance productivity and boost socio-economic activities across the Orlu zone”.

The group urged the governor to channel efforts towards constructing more quality roads with drainage systems in rural communities especially in areas that are yet to benefit from such interventions”.

The measure, according to OYA, will further strengthen and enhance the socio-economic well being of the rural dwellers who have long desired accessible link roads and other basic amenities that propel development.

“OYA also commends the Governor for his commitment to resisting security across Orlu zone, particularly in Orsu and Orlu Local Government Areas, where socio-economic activities that were comatose have been restored.

“However, we call on the State Government to consolidate on these gains by giving increased attention to security concerns in Izombe, Agwa, and other surrounding communities of Oguta LGA where cases of kidnapping and other heinous crimes, including killings and allegations of criminal activities, continue to cause concern.

The Government and security agencies should rise to these growing security challenges in Oguta and its environs by strengthening surveillance and security presence along the Izombe–Agwa axis, where incidents of kidnapping have reportedly become frequent. We strongly urge that security personnel deployed to these areas remain proactive and strategic in preventing kidnapping and other criminal activities. Security operatives should also intensify sustained operations within forests and isolated locations around Izombe, Agwa, and other communities in Oguta LGA, as such areas are often allegedly exploited by criminal elements for unlawful activities.

Furthermore, Orluzurumee Youth Assembly calls for active community participation in efforts to combat insecurity. We appeal to residents across communities in Orlu Zone to work closely and cooperatively with conventional security agencies in order to collectively tackle criminality and foster a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous society”.
