IDEATO once again played host to a massive convergence of constituents from all walks of life who trooped out to celebrate the 44th birthday of the Federal Representative for Ideato North and South, Barr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, in his hometown, Akokwa. The occasion was marked with tributes, resounding encomiums, and the presentation of gifts in profound appreciation for his exemplary service delivery and people-centered representation.

Addressing the jubilant crowd, Ugochinyere expressed profound gratitude for their love and unwavering support, which he noted have been instrumental to the milestones recorded in his administration.

Speaking on his stewardship, Ugochinyere reeled out verifiable projects he has initiated and completed, including: the construction of facilities at County School, Akokwa; Jubilee Nursery and Primary School, Akokwa, the Laboratory Block at Comprehensive Secondary School, Umumaisiaku; the rehabilitation of Akpulu Secondary School and Central School, Arondizuogu, among several others.  

The Lawmaker further disclosed that there is ongoing interventions including the supply of over 1,000 school desks, the rehabilitation of Osina Community Hospital, and the rehabilitation of Umuobom Health Centre.  

In the area of human capital development, Ugochinyere stated that more than 400 students across primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions in Ideato have benefited from his scholarship scheme, while 66 constituents have been trained and empowered through his agricultural empowerment program. He also facilitated erosion control, installed over two thousand solar powered street lights, amongst other things.

Ahead of the forthcoming elections, he  charged constituents to commence strategic mobilization, noting that the road to victory would be challenging due to forces arrayed against democracy in Ideato.  

He assured the people that any attempt to subvert their will shall be vehemently resisted, stressing that results must be transparent, uploaded at polling units, and the electoral process followed to its logical conclusion.  

 “Our forebears never conceded to injustice, and we will not allow outsiders to impose leadership upon us. We shall turn out in our thousands. The authentic result will be written in Ideato. The power of the people remains the greatest power. We will defend our land and our votes, and we will neutralize every attempt to undermine us.  

“This election is both spiritual and political. It is a decisive moment to consolidate the mandate of your messenger. I will not fail you. Leave the politics of Abuja to me. Tend to your assignments and safeguard your polling units.”

THE CLIMAX of the event was a massive show of love for Barr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere by the people of Ideato. 

The crowd went overboard with gifts, tributes, praises, and thunderous applause, attesting to his efficient and result driven representation. They reaffirmed their unwavering support for him ahead of the 2027 elections.

The event ended on a high note with a renewed commitment by the people to defend their mandate and entrench credible and people-oriented leadership in Ideato land.

Dignitaries and leaders of the Action People’s Party, APP, were in attendance. They included Hon. Emmanuel Ezeanochie, APP candidate for Oru East constituency; Hon. Chibueze Bright Ndubueze, APP candidate for Nkwerre State Constituency; and Hon. Ernest Njesi, APP State Chairman, among others.

Also present was Hon. Rufus Omeire, former Member of the House of Representatives for Ideato North and South and APP Senatorial Candidate for Orlu Zone. Omeire used the occasion to appreciate Ugochinyere for his quality service delivery and reaffirmed his total support for him and the party.
