….Say, Federal House Member Mathew Nwogu, Misinformed By Disgruntled Elements In The Community
Elders of Okwuruma village of Obioma autonomous community in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo state have distanced and disassociated themselves from the accusation of land grabbing and intimidation levelled against Prince Charles Amadi a notable business mogul and political heavy weight who hails from Eziama, in lkeduru Local Government Area.
Speaking to newsmen recently at their ancestral homes in Okwuruma Obioma community, Elder Nze Obi Iwuala and Elder Lambert Kabiri Nwogu, aged 80 and 70 years of age respectively disclosed that they are not party to the land grabbing allegation orchestrated in different media platforms against Prince Charles Amadi, which according to them, “is a gang-up to tarnish the image of an innocent man who has the interest of the people at heart’
The two village elders revealed that some unscrupulous criminal elements in their community super-imposed their names and signatures without their consent in the purported document where they accused Prince Amadi and Mr Chikadibia Anyanwu of engaging in land grabbing and other nefarious activities in their community. The elders disclosed that the purveyors of the allegedly forged documents are trying to divert attention and deceive the public so as to cover up their alleged atrocious criminal activities in the community.
The duo of Elder Obi Iwuala and Elder Lambert Kabiri Nwogu hinted that the people parading the land grabbing document against Prince Charles Amadi are the architects of the problems and squabbles devastating the community. They accused the culprits of selling community’s land and running away with the money that should be shared by all those who have land in the area that was sold. They alleged that, “this set of allegedly fraudulent people from their community have been hiding from the police. Instead of making themselves available for questioning, they chose to be sleeping inside the bush to evade arrest.”
The elders affirmed that the land transaction their village had with Prince Charles Amadi is genuine and transparent and followed due process. The problem is that those the village appointed to represent them in the transaction betrayed the trust the village reposed in them by allegedly absconding with the money realized from the land transaction. They said the major problem their community is greed, a situation where few people want to fraudulently appropriate what belongs to the entire village.
The elders further stated that, Prince Charles Amadi has paid over three hundred and fifty million in respect of the land he acquired through due process and has also donated cows to the village as part of the laid down traditional rites associated with land transactions when almost the entire village is involved. The elders are therefore demanding that those who fraudulently withheld the money that Prince Amadi paid for the Okohia Egbelu Okwuruioma land that he genuinely bought, should come out from their hiding places, say the truth and save the entire village the embarrassment, disgrace and ridicule that the matter has generated everywhere including the National Assembly in Abuja.
In the same vein, the elders also vindicated Evangelist Mr Chikadibia Anyanwu of any accusation of wrong doing levelled against him by some individuals in Okwuruma village. They told journalists that they found nothing wrong with the intervention of Mr Chikadibia Anyanwu who happens to be their brother from the neighbouring Umumba village, They posited that the intervention of Mr Anyanwu became necessary when it was obvious that the people whom the village sent to represent them in the transaction had allegedly compromised their integrity. They described Evangelist Chikadibia Anyanwu as an experienced government approved security expert who has done everything humanly possible to safeguard life and property in Obioma community. They hinted that Chikadibia is widely known in the entire Obioma community as a very peaceful and transparent man that has been filling the vacuum left by their traditional ruler who has been absent for many years now.
Responding to a question, the elders said, they had not witnessed any form of harassment by the police, intimidation and/or victimisation by Mr Chikadibia as alleged by some individuals. They said that anybody from their village invited by the police or other government security agencies should go and clear himself of any wrong doing instead of pointing accusing fingers at Chikadibia.
The elders also used the opportunity to advise the member representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives Rt Hon Mathew Nwogu to verify information he is given before taking action, adding that some mischievous and disgruntled individuals misled the Federal House member into reading a fake document on the floor of the green chambers. Hence, the need for the lawmaker to always verify and conduct proper investigation on documents before bringing it to the public, especially when such documents come from the communities . They told the lawmaker that the documents which bear their names as signatories to the land grabbing allegation against Prince Amadi are malicious, unwarranted and were carried out in bad faith by wicked individuals who want to destroy the good relationship they have with Prince Amadi, adding that there is nothing wrong if Prince Amadi chooses to buy land in Ngor Okpala, because other Ngor okpala sons have also bought land in other Local Governments Areas of their choice.
