The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has disowned reports linking it to constituency projects attracted by Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, insisting that the projects were not executed by the Commission.

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has dissociated itself from media reports attributing constituency projects in Ideato Federal Constituency to the Commission, describing the claims as false and misleading.

The Commission made its position known in a press statement signed by Preye Woli of its Media Unit, clarifying that it neither issued the alleged statement concerning the projects nor should it be associated with publications suggesting otherwise.

The reports reportedly linked the projects to the member representing Ideato Federal Constituency, Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere.

However, the NDDC maintained that the projects in question were constituency projects and not projects executed by the Commission.

According to the statement, the Commission’s projects are identifiable through its official colours, insignia and logo, urging the public to exercise caution before attributing projects to the agency.

The Commission warned that attributing projects to it without proper verification was misleading and could unnecessarily involve it in matters outside its mandate and responsibility.

It consequently urged members of the public, media organisations and other stakeholders to disregard the reports and verify information about its activities through official channels before publication.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and accountability, the NDDC stated that it remained focused on the effective discharge of its statutory responsibilities across the Niger Delta region.

The clarification comes amid public attention surrounding constituency projects attributed to political representatives, with the Commission insisting that accurate information is essential to protecting its institutional integrity and ensuring proper public understanding of its activities.
