–  Calls For Support, Partnership

The Nigeria Union of Journalists Imo State Council will soon set up a work station for the use of registered journalists in the state.

The Chairman Comrade Precious Nwadike, stated this during an interview with newsmen in Abuja, recently. He said the workstation has become very important because the union’s secretariat located along Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, is currently under utilized as members hardly come there to file their stories because of the unavailability of necessary facilities. Hence, the union has decided to equip the place with state of the art facilities and computers.

Recall that the union had earlier set up a cyber cafe but this time around, they want to make it a full fledged workstation where not less than 50 journalists can  work at the same time without the need to go out to look for anything. He said,”already we have a electricity generating set.We hope to install solar system at the secretariat to ensure 24hours power supply”.

This initiative according to Nwadike will also help to ease the workload of journalists who often move around looking for where to file stories.

He called on good spirited individuals to support the initiative which is aimed at enhancing the dissemination of information for the good of all.
