The newly elected Orluzurumee executive led by Hon Ugochukwu Nzekwe, a former two term member of the Imo State House of Assembly for Nkwerre State Constituency paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Imo State Traditional Institution and Community Policing, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr Emma Okeke at the Obi Eze Imo Palace, in Owerri, the state capital on Friday June, 13, 2025 to formally inform.him of the of their emergence.l

Eze Imo who is the traditional ruler of Amaifeke Ancient Kingdom and  Chairman, South East Council of Traditional Rulers expressed confidence in the newly elected executive who he described as “the long awaited team of credible men of integrity that will restore the pride of Orlu and take it to a more glorious era”.

This was contained in a release issued by the Publicity Secretary of Orluzurumee, Nnamdi Cos-Ukwuoma, and made available to the press.

The revered Monarch expressed happiness that the new executive comprises men of unquestionable capacity, integrity and track record who have paid their dues in different spheres of life.

According to him, “this group of tested professionals is the Orluzurumee executive that Orlu people have been yearning for. You have both the experience and the goodwill to unify our people, reawaken our cultural values, and reposition Orlu for greater relevance in Imo State and beyond. I urge you to work in harmony with the State Government and other critical stakeholders”.

Eze Okeke, advised them to deploy their wealth of experience in different fields of human endeavour towards engendering peace, youth empowerment and community development, adding that Orlu’s destiny must be redefined by its sons and daughters for the good of all.

Responding, Hon Ugochukwu Nzekwe, who is also Chairman, Former Members of Imo State House of Assembly (FOMIHA) thanked Eze Imo for the warm reception and fatherly advice he gave his team. He assured the royal father of the new executive’s unflinching commitment to selfless, transparent and people-oriented leadership.

“This is not just a leadership role—it is a sacred mandate,” Nzekwe stated. “We are determined to reposition Orluzurumee as a beacon of hope and unity, not just in cultural terms but as a catalyst for socioeconomic growth. We will engage the grassroots, partner with the diaspora and align with the State Government to pursue the development Orlu truly deserves.”

He emphasized inclusivity, community cohesion, and proactive engagement as the key strategies for the team’s leadership approach.

Elected on June 1, 2025, under the supervision of the Orlu Elders Council, the Orluzurumee executive committee features accomplished individuals from diverse fields, each bringing a unique perspective to the table. The new officers include, Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe – President-General
