– Urges Uzodinma To Caution Govt Appointees Heating Up Polity
Orlu Equity Forum (OEF) a socio-political organization that advocates the collective interests of Orlu people, has warned the Barr Rex Anunobi-led Orlu Political Consultative Assembly (OPOCA) to stop embarrassing and portraying Orlu zone in bad light through its controversial actions and utterances that have absolutely nothing to do with the growth and development of Orlu zone.
The group, in a release signed by its Publicity Secretary, Chief Emaka Nnadi said, they have for some time taken note of the activities of OPOCA and found out that the group is not concerned about the interest of Orlu zone but more interested in pursuing the interests of its leaders who, from all indications benefit from crises situations. Hence, they always seek ways of heating up the polity by engaging in war of words with other zones.
“It is worrisome that OPOCA often ignores the harrowing experiences of Orlu people and glosses over issues that happen in other places. For instance, OPOCA did not deem it necessary to say anything about the multitudes that were killed by Fulani herdsmen at Agwa, a community in Oguta Local Government Area. The recent bomb explosion at Orsu LGA that had debilitating effects on the people did not also attract any comment from the leadership of OPOCA. But they often engage in exchange of vituperations with other zones over inconsequential issues that have nothing to do with the progress and development of Orlu zone. This attitude of playing to the gallery when the Orlu zone is on fire is condemnable and unacceptable.”
“We advise the Governor, Dist Senator Hope Uzodinma who does not delight in frivolities to call the leaders of OPOCA most of who are appointees of his government to order. Except, his silence should be taken as an endorsement of their unruly and despicable actions that are capable of truncating the relative peace and mutual co-existence in the state.”
