The Imo State Police Command has banned the use of mini buses (tricycles) by its tactical teams.

This was contained in a release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Henry Okoye.

The development is sequel to complaints of harassment, intimidation and extortion of innocent citizens by those who operate in unapproved vehicles while on routine patrols.

The CP, Aboki Danjuma described the act as grossly unprofessional, and warned that any team found violating this directive will face immediate sanctions. Commanders of such teams will be vicariously held liable.

The Command reiterates its commitment to upholding professionalism, accountability, and ethical policing standards in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police.

All units are directed to comply strictly, and members of the public are encouraged to report any violations.
