– Calls Him Desperate Political Comedian
Barr Emmanuel Okpara, has taken a swipe at his professional colleague and former Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission in Imo State, Barr Willie Amadi who he described as a desperate political comedian whose political career has rusted in irrelevance.
Barr Okpara, an academic with a Doctorate degree in Law, said, Amadi has resorted to peddling tales soaked in fiction, bitterness and deliberate falsehood in a bid to seek relevance.
According to him, “Willie Amadi’s recent write up titled, “The Return of Bruce Lee” is nothing but a desperate outburst by a man frustrated by his inability to remain relevant either in law, public service, or politics. We reply every paragraph of his libelous publication as follows:
1. On the so-called “political incarceration” of Nze Chinasa Nwaneri, the truth remains that no such situation ever existed. There was no “blackmail” or “recall” based on Willie Amadi’s imaginary intervention. What exists is a father-and-son relationship between Governor Hope Uzodimma and Nze Chinasa Nwaneri, a bond that outsiders like Amadi have neither the standing nor moral footing to interfere with. No intervention was sought or granted from a man who can’t even speak for himself let alone advise a sitting Governor.
2. The fabricated narrative of Chinasa Nwaneri “sleeping at his residence in 1995” is laughable and easily debunked. As early as 1992, Nze Chinasa Nwaneri had already built and owned homes in Aladinma and World Bank Estate, was running NASA Mass Transit, and was a member of both the Crystal Club of Nigeria and First Brothers Social Club. His name was famously immortalized in three tracks by music legend late Oliver De Coque, which no street politician or armchair lawyer can boast of. While Willie Amadi was still seeking relevance around surulere, Nze chinasa nwaneri was living at Festac in Lagos and was already an established and celebrated figure.
3. On the matter of municipal clean-up and demolition of criminal hideouts, Amadi again exposes his ignorance or perhaps deep conflict of interest. The specific location he lamented the horticultural space by MCC Road/Chukwuma Nwoha Junction, was not only harboring known drug dealers but was a bunk operated by his own brother, Clinton Amadi, where mkpuru mmiri and other narcotics were openly peddled. The spot had long served as a base for robberies, drug activities, and day-time and night-time assaults. Government action there was not only legal but essential for public safety. What is truly suspicious is Willie Amadi’s passionate defense of an illegal enclave run by his brother.
. The claim that trees were cut down for “blood money” is both childish and false. No public space was sold. Instead, Amadi falsely presented forged documents from Imo Housing Corporation to secure allocation of a government verge for personal profit. This fraud was uncovered, recorded, and rejected. Let him present his documents publicly if he dares. The so-called “trees” were on government property and had no legal protection. We welcome his legal action, it will expose even more of his desperate dealings.
4. As for his laughable claim of being “inundated with complaints,” it is instructive to note that Willie Amadi holds no public office, has no relevance in the current environmental setup, and is clearly bitter that his role as ENTRACO’s pioneer GM (which ended in failure due to multiple circumstances and reports of abuse of rights and callous extortions) is no longer referenced. His sudden environmental activism is a cover for his family’s vested interest in the illegal structures being removed. The facts are there: no payment was demanded from any legal shop owner, only illegal occupants on public land were affected.
5. Amadi’s entire emotional ranting rests on his personal bitterness and attempt to rewrite history. Who was Willie Amadi in 1992? Did he own a single property in or outside Owerri? Where was he when Chinasa Nwaneri was already being hailed by musicians, engaged in capital development and owning multiple homes? Let the public decide who between them commands respect and achievement.
6. Finally, we remind the public that this same Willie Amadi is the one who parades himself as an “actor,” whose career in public service ended in ridicule, and who today clings to social media hoping to remain relevant. His market indeed “no go sell.” Nze Chinasa Nwaneri remains focused on serving Imo people with distinction and loyalty to the Governor, while Amadi continues to chase clout with lies and family disgrace.
7. This will be the last time such trash will be dignified with a response. The public is advised to disregard Willie Amadi’s concocted fairy tales. We move forward, not backwards.
We thank the governor for listening through Nze chinasa nwaneri and ensuring that these criminal hideouts are expunged from society”.
