We, the Traditional Rulers, leaders and stakeholders in Owerri Municipal Council heartily congratulate and felicitate with our performing amiable Governor, Dist. Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma (Onwa Oyoko), on his exceptional performance, giant infrastructure developmental strides and other people-oriented programs and policies of his 3R administration that have redefined the narrative of governance in the state for the good of Imo people, particularly Owerri zone that has never had it so good.

We commend and appreciate our God sent Governor for the love, interest and care he has exhibited for Nde Owerri, particularly Owerri Municipal Council which is the seat of government.

We will forever be indebted to your Excellency for streamlining the Imo Charter of Equity and ceding the governorship position to Owerri zone come 2027, in line with the principles of equity, justice and fairness.

We are also grateful for your numerous acts of goodwill which include, but not limited to.

1. The emergence of our beloved illustrious son, Dr Macdonald Ebere as the State Chairman of a ruling party, the All Progressive Congress APC during your tenure. This is the first time in the history of our State that we are occupying such a vantage position.

2. The appointment of our son, Hon Ernest Ibejiako (Nwa Ndaa) as the Commissioner for Mining and Industry and Chief Frank Nzewodo as OCDA General Manager.

3. The construction of a solid and well positioned flyover at the Control Post roundabout, along Port Harcourt/Onitsha Road, Owerri to ease traffic congestion. This is the first of its kind in the history of Imo State, and the establishment of Orashi Electricity Company Ltd that will supply electricity to the entire state.

4. You have in addition to all these, graciously rehabilitated all link roads in and around Owerri Municipality, including the MCC-Uratta-Toronto Road, Egbu-Emekuku, Umuahia Road, the reconstruction and reactivation of Eke Ukwu Owerri Market, demolition of the utterly dilapidated Imo International Conference Center (IICC) and the construction of a more befitting solidly constructed ultra modern edifice (IICC) in its place.

We also express our heartfelt gratitude to your Excellency for restoring the respect and dignity of the traditional Institution in the state with whom you have enjoyed a long standing cordial relationship.

The icing on the cake of your numerous landmark achievements is the unprecedented ImoCare Health Insurance Program initiated by your administration to ensure that Imo people, irrespective of class, social and financial status enjoy free, accessible and quality medical Services.

This, attests to your magnanimity and passiönate commitment to reducing avoidable infant and adult mortality rates occasioned by ignorance, self medication and lack of funds. We also thank you for your noble strides, for upgrading Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education and Federal Medical Centre Owerri to Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education and Federal University Teaching Hospital respectively.

We also want to use this medium to commend you for bringing peace to Umuihugba Umuodu autonomous community by giving Staff of Office to the rightful person as Eze. We also thank you for operating a responsive government that led to the peace, harmony and mutual co-existence that currently prevails in Umuihugba Umuodu.

Our Dear Governor, you have no doubt written your name in gold and your legacies will remain reference points for a very long time.

We, in the same vein, appreciate and commend the Major, Executive Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council, Hon Bldr Chris Emeribe for his excellent and outstanding performance so far.

To this end, we unanimously on behalf of ourselves,families and respective communities pledge our unwavering support and loyalty to your 3R administration that has positively turned around the fortunes of our dear State in all ramifications. We pray that the Almighty God who ordained your emergence continues to guide, protect and bless you more abundantly. May He also grant you your heart’s desire in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
