Mrs Cecilia Chibundu, the Secretary of Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of St Patrick’s Parish, Mgbirichi was highly elated when she was called upon on Sunday, August, 10, 2025 to receive Awards of Honour on behalf of her two biological brothers who were considered worthy by the women in recognition of their selfless services to God and humanity respectively’
The two brothers namely, Lawrence Nwafor and Gerald Ogochukwu Nwafor, were honoured as “ Nwa ka Ibe ya” and Ezi Enyi CWO” respectively
Responding to a question, Mrs Chibundu who beamed with smiles said, “honestly I am very happy to stand before my fellow women and the entire church today to receive these awards on behalf of my two biological brothers who have me as their only sister. We are three in number”
“As the Secretary of the outgoing Parish Executive that will hand over to a new set of people in December this year, I told them of some of the projects the women have and urged them to assist us. They obliged me and donated handsomely. Hence, the women deemed it necessary to appreciate them. Besides, my entire family has always contributed our quota in different ways to the growth, development and sustenance of the church because we were taught from childhood to put our trust, hope and faith in the Almighty God who has always supported and been our strength in all situations.”
Mrs Chibundu, used the opportunity to commend and congratulate her fellow executives and the entire members of CWO for organizing a successful and hitch free 2025 August meeting despite obvious challenges. She also thanked God for giving them the grace and making it possible.
