Youths of Ikeduru local government area had unanimously passed a Vote of Confidence on the Executive Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, for his infrastructural revolution and people-centred development initiatives across the state.
They also passed a Vote of Confidence on the Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, Hon. Dr. Emeka Mandela Ukaegbu, for his outstanding performance in office and effective representation of the interests of the Ikeduru people.
The Vote of Confidence was passed through the youth leaders during the grand celebration of the Commissioner’s birthday and briefing, which was attended by stakeholders and youths from the 29 autonomous communities in Ikeduru.
The event was held at his country home and coincided with the Yuletide season.
Addressing the gathering, Ukaegbu highlighted the superlative performances, people-oriented programmes and developmental strides of the 3R Administration, stressing that the Governor has demonstrated strong commitment to youth empowerment, infrastructure development and inclusive governance.
The Commissioner commended the youth of Ikeduru for their peaceful disposition and commitment to security, noting that it is on record that Ikeduru has remained free from incidents of insecurity.
He urged them to sustain the prevailing peace and continue to support government efforts at all levels to enhance peace, security and development within the local government area.
In their responses, various youth leaders hailed the Commissioner for his open-door policy and accessibility to youths and stakeholders of Ikeduru.
They appreciated him for convening the meeting as he briefed them on government activities and for celebrating the festive season with them, expressing confidence in his leadership, describing him as a worthy representative of Ikeduru in the state government.
They commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for appointing a vibrant and dynamic youth as Commissioner for Youth, pledging their continued support to the 3R Administration for sustained development in the state. They rejioced home with bags of rice.
