Former Orlu Council Chairman and Special Adviser to the Governor on Petroleum, Hon. Eddy Olumba (popularly known as Mr. E), has heartily felicitated with the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, on the occasion of the second anniversary of his second term in office.
Olumba, a notable indigene of the Orlu community, conveyed his felicitation during a telephone conversation on Wednesday.
He stated that the Governor deserves commendation as he marks six years in office, having transformed the state through massive investments in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth digital skills training, education reforms, civil service reforms, increases in the minimum wage, and the regular payment of pensions and gratuities, among other notable achievements. According to him, these accomplishments have significantly contributed to the overall development of the state.
Olumba stressed that the Governor has constructed quality roads across Orlu, Owerri, and Okigwe Zones, as well as flyovers, bridges, and other critical infrastructure that enhance healthcare delivery.
He added that these developmental projects encourage productivity, strengthen commercial activities, and are instrumental to the peace and security currently enjoyed in the state.
He said,“I heartily commend Governor Hope Uzodimma for his numerous and quality achievements, especially in road infrastructure and the Orashi Electricity Project, which will soon become operational,” he said.
“He has done remarkably well in Orlu and Ideato Local Government Areas in particular. The severe erosion challenges in Ideato are being addressed, and residents and road users have expressed satisfaction with the ongoing work on the Orlu–Mgbe–Akokwa Road,” he added.
Speaking on security, Olumba described the introduction of the new local vigilante outfit by the state government as a welcome development, noting that it would significantly reduce crime in the state.
He also said that the Imo State Health Insurance Scheme is saving lives and commended the Governor for being kind, considerate, and compassionate in his leadership.
Olumba, however, appealed to the Governor to make his presence more strongly felt in Orlu Autonomous Community in order to further enhance development and productivity in the area.
