–       declares them Personae Non Grata in Igbo land

Ohaneze Youth Council (OYC), the apex socio-cultural umbrella organization of Igbo youths at home and in the Diaspora, has declared the erstwhile governors of Eboniyi, Enugu, Anambra and Abia States Personae Non Grata in Igbo land over what it referred to as their treacherous, shameful and unacceptable conducts, utterances and political posturing that are not in tandem with  the desires and aspirations of Ndi Igbo.

The group, in a press statement issued by its National President Comrade Igboayaka .O. Igboayaka after a press conference at Enugu on Sunday April 12, 2026 described some persons as political profiteers who have mortgaged the collective interests of the Igbo Nation on the altar of personal aggrandizement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, “The core of the Council’s grievance centers on the recent public endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term by these Igbo politicians”.

Igboayaka noted that the endorsement is not only premature but does not align with the prevailing economic and security challenges confronting the southeast zone and Nigeria at large. “it is therefore a tragedy that those who benefitted from and rose to prominence by virtue of the votes of our people are now compromising our future for their personal political gains and survival”.

“Declaring support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu while ignoring his lack of action on the southeast’s marginalization and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s ongoing incarceration is considered an act of extreme cowardice and economic sabotage against the well-being of Ndigbo.”

Comrade Igboayaka presented a critical analysis of Dr. Chris Ngige’s electoral history, highlighting concerns regarding how the former Gov. Peter Obi’s mandate was stolen by Dr Chris Ngige. Additionally, Igboayaka criticized former Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s poor  performance in the senate due to lack of integrity and credibility. Former Gov. David Umahi’s inability to initiate the dredging of key ports in Igboland and former governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s alleged involvement in electoral malpractices in 2023 ae still very glaring.

Igboayaka, further noted the perceived decline in the political relevance of former Gov. Sullivan Chime. He questioned whether these individuals possess the necessary political influence and electoral credibility to mobilize Ndigbo to support  Bola Tinubu’s re-election.

According to him, “these former southeast governors who alligned themselves with Bola Ahmed Tinubu are corrupt politicians seeking to evade the reopening of their eight years embezzlement cases by the EFCC and ICPC. They lack genuine grassroots support in their states and the entire  southeast.

We therefore call for the social ostracization of former governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Okezie Ikpeazu, Chime Sullivan, Chris Ngige and David Umahi. Let us boycott all their political and social activities as they have renewed their political sabotage against Ndigbo for the 2027 Presidential election.”

“The 2027 “Ballot Revolution” represents a solemn warning to political saboteurs, as any attempt by disgruntled political elements to illegitimately influence election results in the region through these figures will be met with unyielding, democratic resistance.

Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka stressed that the Ohanaeze Youth Council OYC is dedicated to a “Ballot Revolution” in 2027, where the Permanent Voter Cards PVCs will be instrumental in retiring expired politicians who prioritize their self-interests over the advancement of Ala Igbo”.
