Your foreign investors promise, similar to Imo non existent 4000 oversea jobs
Reacting to a recent publication in the Nigeria Newsbreak newspaper, the Orlu Equity Forum (OEF) a socio-political group that passionately champions the collective interest of Orlu people as regards good governance has once again highlighted what it described as the inadequacies of the Executive Chairman of Orlu Local Government Area, Pastor Chris Mbarie, who it accused of deceiving Orlu people with the promise of bringing foreign investors to fast track socio-economic growth.
The group, in a statement attributed to its National President Comrade Nelson Okolie and Secretary, Fabian Nwokeji, stated that Mbaeri’s false promises of bringing foreign investors to the area, is similar to his principal Governor Hope Uzodinma’s false promise of having concluded plans to take 4000 Imo youths to the United States, Canada and the U.K where they will be gainfully employed.
“We stand by everything written in that report. It is very obvious that Pastor Mbaeri, is a very fast learner. He is assimilating everything he is being taught by his principal the governor, who, some time in 2024 promised to facilitate the employment of 4000 Imo youths in different capacities overseas. But almost three years down the line, the promise has remained a mirage. Unfortunately, the non existent 4000 overseas jobs are in addition to several other unfulfilled promises with which Imo people were deceived”.
The group also urged Mbarie, to desist from using the old fashioned political gimmick of hiring white men to come here and pose as foreign investors with a view to deceiving Orlu people.
According to the statement, “what Orlu people expect from the Executive Chairman now, is to give detailed explanation of what he has done with humongous monthly allocations he received and other enormous amounts that accrued to the council as internally generated revenue, including street naming through which the council has allegedly generated over #900m.”
“It is highly regrettable that Mbaeri, who claims to be a Pastor, has condescended to the level of playing the politics of deception. Let it be known that in no distant time, we will expose all the lies he has said to deceive Orlu people, including the so-called WAEC examination registration fees he claimed to have paid for secondary school students, among others. The most insulting and annoying one is the false claim of having invited non-existent foreign investors to Orlu.
Mbaeri, will at the fullness of time be compelled to account for his stewardship”.
