The Owerri North Council of Traditional Rulers, comprising traditional rulers of all the autonomous communities in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo state, has congratulated Prince Alex Mbata (PAM) on his victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Owerri zone senatorial primary election that was conducted recently.

The traditional rulers in a congratulatory message signed on their behalf by HRH, Eze Jude Nwaogu, HRH, Eze Dr Malachy Onu and HRH, Eze Chris Nwamara, as Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Secretary respectively said, “On behalf of the Owerri North Council of Traditional Rulers and the entire good people of deserved emergence as the All Progressives Congress candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Owerri Zone, ahead of 2027 elections”. 

The message dated 1st June 2026 and captioned, “ CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE ON YOUR EMERGENCE AS APC CANDIDATE ” further reads “Your victory is a clear testimony to your sterling leadership qualities: vision, humility, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of our people. Over the years, you have distinguished yourself through selfless community service that has impacted both critical infrastructure and human capital  development across Owerri North and the entire Owerri Zone. 

We recall with pride your construction of the 2-kilometre dual carriageway at New Owerri Protea Hotel, the 11.5 kilometre ring road which cut across three autonomous communities of Ulakwo, Egbelu Obube and Ngwoma Obube your native community.  Your support for education, youth empowerment, and countless interventions that have uplifted families and communities are worthy of note. These deeds earned you the honour of Ogbuhuruzo of Owerri Zone and have cemented your reputation as a grassroots leader who serves selflessly. 

Sir, the people of Owerri North, irrespective of political affiliation, are solidly behind you. We pledge to rally every community, kindred, and household in support of your victory. Your success at the polls will usher in new possibilities-not only for Owerri North, but for the entire Owerri Zone in terms of representation, development, and prosperity.
