The 9th Substantive Vice-Chancellor of the , yesterday held his first General Assembly at the Prof. C.O.E. Onwuliri Conference Centre, marking the official commencement of his administration.
The event was preceded by an ecumenical service, during which prayers were offered to commit the new administration into God’s hands and seek divine guidance for the university’s leadership.
In his inaugural address as Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Assembly, Prof. Dozie unveiled the six strategic pillars that will drive his administration:”Excellence in teaching, learning, mentorship and academic development.
Research, innovation, entrepreneurship and global competitiveness.Digital transformation and smart university systems.Infrastructure, utilities, security and a sustainable campus environment.
Strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement and financial sustainability.
Corporate governance, human capital development and institutional efficiency.
The Vice-Chancellor also introduced the guiding mantra of his administration, “Innovating and Driving Technology for Service,” emphasizing the university’s commitment to technological advancement and service-oriented leadership.
Consequently, the university’s slogan has been reaffirmed as “FUTO: The Pioneer. The Innovator. To Serve,” reflecting its vision of excellence, innovation and impactful service to society.
The FUTO Library community joined other stakeholders in warmly welcoming Prof. Dozie as the institution’s 9th Substantive Vice-Chancellor and expressed optimism for a successful and transformative tenure.
